Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express credit card review: Big bonus with bummer benefits

Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express Card overview

The Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express Card is the newest Marriott Bonvoy credit card from American Express and offers mid-tier perks, including automatic Gold Elite status, solid points-earning at Marriott properties and elite night credits. It does, however, lack a number of benefits that you might expect from a card with a $250 annual fee. Card rating*: ⭐⭐⭐

Marriott now has six cobranded cards available to new cardholders, with annual fees on those ranging from $0 to $650 per year. The Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card sits in the middle, with an annual fee of $250 (see rates and fees).

The card currently has a welcome offer of 125,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points after you use your new card to make $4,000 in eligible purchases within the first three months of cardmembership. Ongoing benefits include automatic mid-tier status in the Marriott Bonvoy program, bonus points on every stay and bonus earning rates where many travelers spend the most.

However, the card lacks one feature we’ve come to expect with hotel credit cards: a complimentary free night each year on your account anniversary. So, does the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Bevy card offer enough ongoing benefits and perks to make it worth more than introductory cards typically bearing annual fees under $100 and offering a free night automatically?

Let’s dig deeper to understand whether the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Bevy card merits a place in your wallet.

Who is this card for?

The Amex Marriott Bonvoy Bevy card is well suited to those who would like to receive Marriott Bonvoy status automatically, who want something above entry-level status afforded by cards with lower annual fees but who aren’t willing to pay higher annual fees for premium or luxury credit cards that offer higher status levels. It’s also good for those looking for a credit card that offers consumer protections when shopping or traveling, in case things go wrong (more on

Food for the big game

A week from today, homes across the country will host Super Bowl parties. And Super Bowl parties of course mean Super Bowl food.

Preparing some quick and easy appetizers and food entrees will help the cook who is uncertain as to what to create for their guests, and planning and prepping in advance will give time to enjoy the day’s festivities.

The Super Bowl is a national treasure and I would like to share a quick history of its beginnings.

History.com gives these facts to readers:

“The Super Bowl is an enormously popular sporting event that takes place each year to determine the National Football League (NFL) champion. Millions of fans gather around televisions on a Sunday in January or February to celebrate this de facto national holiday. Broadcast in more than 170 countries, the Super Bowl is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world, with elaborate halftime shows and new commercials adding to the appeal. Though the NFL officially formed in 1920, the Super Bowl wasn’t played until more than 40 years later. In 1960, a group of businessmen who wanted to own football franchises—but were denied by the NFL—launched an alternative league, known as the American Football League (AFL). For several years, the NFL and AFL were rivals, competing for fans, players and support. Then, in 1966, owners negotiated an agreement to merge the leagues by 1970. In Super Bowl I, the NFL champion Green Bay Packers defeated the AFL champion Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10, on January 15, 1967, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Although ticket prices averaged $12, the game was not a sellout—the only non-sellout in the game’s history. The game drew 61,000 fans and was televised by CBS and NBC.”

For many of us the game is important, but the halftime show, commercials and food may edge into first place. I like to make easy, simple finger foods and possibly a pot of chili or soup to serve to my guests. But here are a few of my personal favorites that you may like to try for the Big Game.

Two Big Walt Disney Jobs Facial area Major Problems

Walt Disney (DIS) – Get Walt Disney Company Report invests seriously in its concept parks and other amusement alternatives. In modern several years the company has spent billions producing Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Avengers Campus at Disney California Journey, Pandora: The World of Avatar at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and, possibly, most impressively Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, also at Hollywood Studios.

And, although not all of these topic park lands experienced sleek openings — Galaxy’s Edge struggled with its signature trip Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance getting recurring outages — all at some point turned unqualified successes.

That has really been a bit of a pattern for Disney though the timeframes have various. The business often struggles when it opens a new attraction, which may be at the very least partly since no volume of tests can certainly simulate the remarkable buyer demand that greeted every of these openings.

These challenges aren’t exceptional to Disney. Comcast’s (CMCSA) – Get Comcast Company Class A Report Universal Studios has struggled to continue to keep Hagrid’s Magical Motorcycle Experience in complete operation at its Florida Islands of Experience park.

But, Disney has two significant new initiatives debuting shortly and one has been delayed though the other has been going through a bit of a shopper backlash.

Disney Delays Its Hottest Cruise Ship

Disney’s cruise line has sort of been a cherry on major for the firm. It’s a lot less than 5% of whole income so the organization was extra-thorough when it came to receiving again to sea after its pandemic-linked closure. Whilst the two Royal Caribbean (RCL) – Get Royal Caribbean Team Report and Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) – Get Carnival Corporation Report started sailing in early July, Disney did not deliver its cruise ships again to sea right up until August.

But, even with the shutdown, Disney kept its most up-to-date cruise ship — the Disney Desire — on monitor for a June 9 debut. That sailing, on the other hand, will not likely transpire,
